Dry Transformers of all types

Roaya Group deals with manufacturers of dry type transformers with all ratings and specifications such as ABB – ELSEWEDY – ELMACO – EGYTRAFO – Arab Trans.

Dry transformers are considered one of the most important industrial equipment in electrical systems. They do not require the immersion of coils in oil for cooling, but instead rely on air for cooling. Additionally, the coils are coated with resin to contribute to better cooling. Dry transformers can be used in enclosed spaces and are characterized by being more practical and able to withstand continuous operation under maximum load. They are safer and do not require frequent maintenance. Despite their higher cost compared to oil transformers, they are smaller in size and more efficient.

Dry type transformers are divided into two types based on their cooling method:

– Natural air-cooled transformers:
The coils are surrounded by air at normal pressure, and usually, smaller transformers of this type rely on air currents to dissipate heat.

– Forced air-cooled transformers::
This is done using what is known as Cast Resin, which is coating the coils with an insulating material having the same coefficient of thermal expansion as the coils, so they are not affected by moisture or other air passages. This type is considered safer than natural air-cooled transformers and can be used in hospitals, schools, and other places.
